Nope. That's cause from peoel leaving the mud vein in. Fish and game can be ruined so easily by folks who don't know how to process it right.

Reckon it would be ,unless purged ? Suppose they are predatory, not grubbing about like carp ,so might be ok ,I've eaten zander out the ouse ,was like cod

Yeah zander are said to be good eating ,perch also...so I'm told

If it's farm raised channels it almost never any kinda muddy taste. If it's wild caught it depends on the water but also how it was processed

My mate gave me some salmon from a trip to Ireland he done and it was proper rank ,like eating sludge

I've had salmon from all over and I just don't get the hype honestly always comes off as dry with no flavor

I'm not the biggest fan of salmon either,  it's OK  done on the smoker as it adds some flavour but otherwise I'm just not that fussed about it.

Love salmon as long as its wild fresh run, used to have whole fish in the oven or fillets frying in a pan within an hour of banking them, superb food.

Always enjoy a small fresh river brown trout fryed in the pan.
