I'd be thinking would there be a point putting them up any more with  the tomfoolery going on lately lol....

I second that on the Goat hunting write ups I think you’d be surprised how many people enjoyed reading about your days out, it was the endurance that I used to like reading about hunting on foot is always the best days out.

I’ve just hit my half century, so now got a lot less of most things in front of me, than I have behind me. Although I get the occasional pang of nostalgia for my younger years, I wouldn’t want to go back and be a youngster coming up now. Quite content growing into a grumpy old barsteward, and feel in very good company here. Bunch of tossers.

Cant say as ive ever heard it called Thomas but yes definitely Tom......" got a bit of Tom for sale fancy a quick butchers ? "

It would be like a lot of that old stuff it just gets shortened down to " go and answer the dog "......" thats a nice kettle " etc etc.....i think regional dialect is great whether its the Jocks,Northerners or wherever.....its something that should be kept alive in my opinion.

My brother uses a lot of rhyming slang that may not relate to the cockney.

Just a couple that relate to going to sea to fish:

"Couldn't get out today, bit to Billy" ( Billy goat gruff...rough).

Or " it was to Mork" ( Mork and Mindy......windy).

Of course, "Billy" should never get confused with "nanny", as in "nanny goat... coat " ! 😂👍

Cheers.
