The cracks that form in the ground on stubble fields are the worst thing for dogs, some of the cracks can get quiet wide I’ve seen a dog break a toe on such ground I assume it was from the toe getting lodged and twisted in a crack when turning

Some the fields by me still got stubble from last year ,feck knows why set aside or summat but the cracks in the ground are so big if I fell in 1 I'd be in there for ever

Silage and hay is cut up here, but no wheat yet, but I think it'll be down a lot sooner than usual.

Even if it was down, he grounds to hard and it's to hot to run.

No hardship in waiting a while.

Cheers.

Its always hot and hard here what are you talking about man Ha Ha

How do you tell the difference between wheat and barley stubble fields ?

I can't tell the difference when it's stubble..

but whilst it's growing barley tends to have longer bristles on the seed head and barley the seed head is narrower..and often bends over more as the seed head droops over...wheat seed heads are thicker

barley also looks like the wild green barley that as kids we would throw as darts

.both of course are grasses
