I could trawl the 'net to find any amount of right wing commentators to rebut everyone of Sandy's left wing commentators, but that's not the point.

ALL the politicians and political parties couldn't give a f**k about us !

At least the Tory's are consistent in their support of "Big Business", "free markets", wether we like it or support it.

Labour, during my life time, have gone from the party of the working man, to Islington based, identity politics and have taken the working mans vote for granted.

The last General Election shocked them.......they didn't understand that when people voted for Brexit, they weren't right wing , knuckle draggers....they were Labours core voters, the "Red Wall" !

But they still tried to reject a popular vote and overturn the referendum.

And they will still try and achieve it It they are ever elected, supported by the LibDems and the SNP.

There is one simple fact Sandy never mentions.....UNEMPLOYMENT IS ALLWAYS HIGHER AT THE END OF A LABOUR GOVERNMENT.

I f Labour went back to their core values, I would gladly vote for them again, but when  they put immigrants, LGBT, trans rights, etc above MY rights.....I can't see that happening.

Cheers.

I agree with all of that.

Being brought up in a mining community with my Dad and most uncles employed undrrground I grew up as a socialist. My first job was in a textile mill during the 3 day week and when at Technical College we had to tear up our previous notes as Labour were tearing up business legislation on a daily basis. Look where all that got us. Failed businesses down to stupid government policies bordering on communism. Failed businesses = people out of work. Labour were also propping up the biggest of all failed businesses, all nationalised.

The Tories changed all that, but went too far. Instead of stream, ining nationalised industriss, changing the management and making them less corrupt they sold them off. Now we are the only country in Europe without any nationalised rail, electricity and water networks.

Bliar, a tory in disguise, continued the policies to the extent that the Health Service looked like being sold off. And where were the socialists who could gave opposed these plans? Lined up behind one bloody communist after another. Labour as a party ceased to exist as did socialism. And now we have Starmer who's only policy is to oppose the opposition. Just like he has been trained to do in the legal profession. No ideas of his own and no shame in opposing the opposite of what he opposed before.

The country is short of credible opposition to its government and historically that has often lead to a far right upsurge leading to violence and atrocities. If the illegal immigration situation is not changed soon I wouldn't bet against a nationalist party taking first or second place in the next general election.

How some people have the audacity to moan that our country is becoming like the third world when they openly welcome the third world into our country is beyond my logic !

They inherited low inflation, low mortgage rates tied to low interest rates. 14k police, but an untold number of illegal and legal immigrants, countering all investment in NHS schools etc. G

Labour were apoplectic with the Tory's planned NI rise....... Now Labour are apoplectic that the planned NI rise is cancelled ! Labours default setting is simply to oppose anything the Tory'

Once again the Tories have looked after their own.

Gave the average Joe around £70-100 quid with the 1% drop in income tax and the rich a average saving of £2-3 grand .

Conviniently pays their leccy and gas bills ?

Gave bankers the green light to earn fortunes while f***ing up as they did in 2008.

Why didn’t they just say we scrapping VAT ‘ this would get people buying more which keeps everything ticking over from shops to builders.

Why did they not say the income tax rate is going to be 10% across the board from 15k to billions’ No cop outs everyone pays the same .

Why didn’t they say we stopping all foreign aid for 10 years and that 150 Billion will pay for the increase in gas and leccy till we get everyone’s roofs fitted out with Solar Pannels to help us become less reliable on Russia ect for energy .

If the issue ain’t resolved after 10 years we will stop all foreign aid for another 10 years till the issue is resolved ?

Its once again give you a penny in one hand whilst giving themselfs and theirs a £1 but most will once again fall  for it all ?

Max, I agree entirely with what you say about foreign aid, but what you say about income tax doesn't make sense.

You say the average joe will save a bit, but the rich will save loads with th 1% cut.

Well, the rich will save even more  if you bring in a standard rate of 10% across the board.

The rich pay 40-45 % now, lowering their tax burden by 30-35% would only make them richer and the country poorer.

Cheers.

Another reason her and the torys will allow this is to undermine British worker's who are fed up of having the piss took out of them are choosing to strike and the use of foreign worker's to undermine them like P&O ferries did.

100% the same with the house rental market as well, landlords ask extortionate rental prices because they know they will get 2 or 3 families of migrants squeezed into 1 property who split the rent while pricing out local folks, it doesn't take long for a decent neighbourhood to loose its appeal and people move out and landlords buy them up at a discounted price.

I know this has been going on for a very long time over your way but it's a relatively new thing here and it's fcuking disgusting to watch a once nice area turn to shit.

So a country that has a struggling health care system, education system, armed forces and emergency serves (to name a few) and you think the answer is to dramatically reduce the income they receive?

Unemployment higher at end of labour government,??  where did you get that from, it was spouted by one of your tory MPs but is it true? Perhaps we have had higher employment following some labour governments but those employed under a tory government are needing foodbanks and benefits to survive. I see the current employment situation as a failure rather than something to celebrate.

Tories have wrecked our NHS, Police and fire services and given us thousands of food banks. Under labour if I remember correctly we had better public services, better health care, less food banks, could see a GP or dentist, less pot holes, lower pension age....................... and many more. basically a better society under a labour government,

Between 1997 and 2010 Labour was continuously in government. Here are Labour’s top 50 achievements during those years.

  1. Longest period of sustained low inflation since the 60s.
  2. Low mortgage rates.
  3. Introduced the National Minimum Wage and raised it to £5.52.
  4. Over 14,000 more police in England and Wales.
  5. Cut overall crime by 32 per cent.
  6. Record levels of literacy and numeracy in schools.
  7. Young people achieving some of the best ever results at 14, 16, and 18.
  8. Funding for every pupil in England has doubled.
  9. Employment is at its highest level ever.
  10. Written off up to 100 per cent of debt owed by poorest countries.
  11. 85,000 more nurses.
  12. 32,000 more doctors.
  13. Brought back matrons to hospital wards.
  14. Devolved power to the Scottish Parliament.
  15. Devolved power to the Welsh Assembly.
  16. Dads now get paternity leave of 2 weeks for the first time.
  17. NHS Direct offering free convenient patient advice.
  18. Gift aid was worth £828 million to charities last year.
  19. Restored city-wide government to London.
  20. Record number of students in higher education.
  21. Child benefit up 26 per cent since 1997.
  22. Delivered 2,200 Sure Start Children’s Centres.
  23. Introduced the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
  24. £200 winter fuel payment to pensioners & up to £300 for over-80s.

  26. Restored devolved government to Northern Ireland.
  27. Over 36,000 more teachers in England and 274,000 more support staff and teaching assistants.
  28. All full time workers now have a right to 24 days paid holiday.
  29. A million pensioners lifted out of poverty.
  30. 600,000 children lifted out of relative poverty.
  31. Introduced child tax credit giving more money to parents.
  32. Scrapped Section 28 and introduced Civil Partnerships.
  33. Brought over 1 million social homes up to standard.
  34. Inpatient waiting lists down by over half a million since 1997.
  35. Banned fox hunting.
  36. Cleanest rivers, beaches, drinking water and air since before the industrial revolution.
  37. Free TV licences for over-75s.
  38. Banned fur farming and the testing of cosmetics on animals.

  40. Free off peak local bus travel for over-60s.
  41. New Deal – helped over 1.8 million people into work.
  42. Over 3 million child trust funds have been started.
  43. Free eye test for over 60s.
  44. More than doubled the number of apprenticeships.
  45. Free entry to national museums and galleries.
  46. Overseas aid budget more than doubled.
  47. Heart disease deaths down by 150,000 and cancer deaths down by 50,000.
  48. Cut long-term youth unemployment by 75 per cent.

You forgot put 5 million on sickness benefits as they didn’t show up on the unemployment records and sold Britain’s gold reserves when prices were at rock bottom, ????
