Supposed to be easier

Recommended Posts

Mmmm so decided to get a little more serious with my reloading. Looked around and everyone who was shooting these bug hole groups and doing all this super serious reloading work all had these nice bench rest style front rests and rear bags. I'd always just bumbled along with with a bipod and sand sock or a old shooting bag I found in the trash and taped along with a sand sock. So I thought "Hay ! This fancy stuff is going to make life a breeze ! It's going to practically cheating". So dropped $150 on a "cheap" Caldwell Rock BR front rest and a freind on another site was kind enough to send me one of his old target rest rear bags aaannnnnd yeah ... Like I've learned so many times before, just because it looks easier doesn't mean it is. "Driving" a rifle in one of these set ups vs a field shooting set up is a completely different game . But fun new challenge I guess.

Well on the bright side I have something new to keep me occupied ??

Here is my recent target zeroing session.

Four rounds off hand ,100 strides.

Testing will resume asap. No idea what the target was, I found it. The old sleeper isn't really used.

Lovely piece as always SD !  Never thought I'd see a leaver gun over there. What the make and model? Caliber?

They have a Henry for sale at Walmart right now for $360 I think and I've been looking hard at it
