Big shaggy dog was hound X,over a beddy bull grey bitch bottom pic, bred the smooth bitch, middle picture.. neither ever made more noise than a normal lurcher...

I seen this young dog come up for rehoming today and thought he looked a bit long in the leg and wondered wether there be some sighthound in him? I know next to nothing of the breed though so probably

Wouldn’t be bred for lamping really , when ever this breed comes up people think about speaking on the lamp , there used for day time hunting a lot in wales , got family there few lads use them , yes

Not seen one myself personally. But know a couple people in hunt service Who have tried them. If they missed on the lamp would put there nose down and run into the darkness in cry. ? would rather try something that would lamp and daytime personally.

Hi all been a while from I’ve been on here.

And out of interest dos anyone run this cross. As it been along time thinking what the pros and cons would be.

And any pictures and advice be most appreciated thank

If you thinking cover and not open moors , I’d going with a pointer x mate , much easy to live with and generally be around and those houndx can really go the distance if you don’t want to be chasing them for miles ?

I sent him up to an old boy that kept the fell hound X's,used to be on here, that perticular dog didn't range far enough for what I wanted at the time...the old lad used him for lamping and had no complaints ?

He was from a long line of working Welsh hounds ?DSC00857_001.jpg.cbaf06477190529c97f664642743d286.jpg

They’ve got to be brought on from pup and at the mountains 3/4 a week to be any good at that stuff from what I can gather , it’s really a specialist type of dog work
