to be fair mate when i said 500 yds that was keeping the lamp on the dog when it’s behind something open land

but i’ve seen dogs get on stuff 500 yds daytime some land it’s not even a 1/3 of

150 yds isn’t far mate some lads kick a football that far ?

I'm not saying you have or haven't done anything......I'm simply saying, in my experience, most people exaggerate times and distances.

Get someone to time you while you estimate one minute, and I'll bet when you think you've counted 60 seconds, only 45 or 50 seconds have actually passed ?

Cheers.

lol.....lets be honest gene...your life partner  is wearing the trousers...  and there's no way he's letting you get a dog

Yeah, I feel the same fellah,...I don't really care whether a pup of mine goes to a working or a pet home, just as long as it is well cared for...?  I always try to gift pups to genuinely nice gu

If you’re dealing with decent fellas & you’re a decent sort yourself you’ll get a pup for free, it’s the ones charging a grand id be wary of

What, a cheetah, have I hell.

Even if I had, you can't tell how fast something is running by watching the thing.

Our eyes don't have built in speedometers mate.

Like I always say ,if you've not got a in built  speedometer in your eyes  you stink

Must make two lad, don't get much kip me mate, that's what work does to you.

I couldn't resist replying to Levis post, talking about measuring speeds with lurchers and what not.

Most lads with runners can't even tell you what cross they're running let alone using range finders and stopwatches. ?

I buried an old bitch I had PTS earlier today.Had a couple of beers and a bit of sleep but i'll take the others out for an hour once it's properly light. I do that every morning then the days free for other things.

Give me a thinker every time, regardless of land size or quarry for that matter. I don’t mean an over thinker that runs stuff for too long, but I think a lot of them are just half hearted and passed off as clever.

I’ve had both types, the 100mph all action aggressive types & the thinkers that run just as fast as they need to & manipulate things and for me there’s no contest, the clever ones get a lot less injuries as well and if your dogs injured all the time well you’d be as well just having a pug or something

Probably the opposite of what you need mate, aren't they smaller fields over there?

its was directed at lads that run on big land and have these type of dogs .no of which are around my part of the country.

Just did a quick calculation based on the time it takes a top non-ped Whippet to run 150 yards, in my mind the fastest dog over that distance, and the terminal velocity is just a fraction under 38 mph.

Hope this helps ! ??!

Cheers.
