Any of you old fellas remember these? They were for brewing tea in. They were part of a working man's 'uniform' in the olden days. I remember my dad going off to work with a billy can swinging from the handlebars of his bike. When he was on nightshift I "borrowed" his billy can to collect frogs and taddies in. I had a great day and had filled the can with taddies, frogs and newts. Unfortunately I left the bloody thing on a train. Then I got caught by the guard for only having a platform ticket. But the guard was old school and just let me off with a warning. When it was time for the old man to go to work, there was a major inquiry into the whereabouts of his billy can. I fecked off to bed sharpish in case suspicion fell on me. 1
Jonjon79 13,340
Good bits of kit A few of the old boys on the railway still use them - they like them because there's a hotplate in the loco cab that they can warm them on if need be.
