Feck a thought we were hard done by in local spar with 4 different types of water filled bacon cut look alikes that only seem acceptable if they have “danish” in front of them

so what’s the sketch with this turkey bacon? It genuine? And what the comparison same cut? Why turkey? Taste differs how? And do you have a genuine market for turkey meat all year round?

sorry for questions i just have to wrap my head around different cultures/country’s by food

O no no I'm more then happy to answer lol, I enjoy conversations like this ? and turkey bacon....eeeegghhh it's kinda one of those "healthier" bacon alternatives , it's a mainly a tinner cut thing. Personally I don't care for it. I'll eat it but it given the option it's pork every time. Turkey burger it's Brett good though, nice switch up from beef. As far as taste, depending on the brand....egh again pork is alot better. The real cheap stuff my dogs won't touch it. And turkey meat ? O yeah year round man. I think you can find a modern marvels on the subject free on YouTube.

And bear !. I've personally never had it. We do have bear in my state but their protected and in smaller numbers. My freinds from up both how ever haven running out there ears. About as bad as racoons . Not uncommon to run on your porn light hand have a 300lbs black bear on your porch going through you garbage can . But apparently most if the time you can just swat em in the butt with a broom or something and they'll run off. Anyway according to them black bear have some of the best meat. Apparently very sweet in taste and akin to nice marbled beef. Not sure about brown or grizzy bear though... I could ask some of my friends up in Montana and Alaska probably about that.

I've seen them cooked a few different ways and now it's actually considered a delicacy to some. But generally the intestines are carefully removed cleaned cleaned and cleaned again. Like it's an extremely specialized thing to do and it takes someone who really knows what their doing to do it correctly. Mess up just one step and ????do it right however, well, it's a running joke that when we have non southerners come down for a cook out or something there given alot of food they swore they would never even touch. Alot of times they end up cleaning the plate asking for more then we tell them what they just ate ? chitlins' racoons possum squirrel rabbit ect are all prime candidates for this ?

But if done right you'll have something akin to this . Though this is a very sloppy version.4884086.jpg.c561508f6906e1eade70c740eb0e320b.jpg

Be cut much finer and have a better color along with the veggies being cooked down better. Alot of times it's servers over rice . Again must be done properly if not your gonna have some kinda punget back taste. Though alot of people have been adding asian flairs to it and I genuinely think it would probably be pretty goodcooked-chitlins.jpg.e6cb77572e5646ac4c1d4cf8364e6c82.jpg

Nice write up but I'll pass on the chitlins, I mean I would eat them but why would you if you have choice??

Lol I said the same thing when I first learned about hagus ...or however that's spelled .but seriously though it's more of a old timey traditional dish, recokon it would be along the same lines as tripe ,blood pudding , ludifisk ect. Not for everyone

I have spoken to plenty of people who have eaten black bear, it's edible, Grizzly that's eating spent salmon and carcasses is putrid.

Brings out the hidden vegan in me.? I remember my mam and granny chomping away on pigs feet and tripe. I was so disgusted I was nearly sick. They thought it so funny they chased me waving the pigs' feet. ?. Don't think mams and grandma's are supposed to behave like that, but they didn't have 'mumsnet' to tell them in those days.
