Squirrel shooting station ideas

Hi,

I am part of a diy shoot.

we have a problem with squirrels and our barrel feeders.

I’m thinking of making a feeding station for them so I can sit and pluck them off. 
just looking for a few different ideas and how you’ve built yours.

Just buy a tube trap and rotate it around each feeder (or buy a bunch if your feeling flush). 

I found squirrels chew the barrels as soon as they become empty so be careful when you finish feeding at the end of the year as that's when barrels get chewed up.

Setting a few running poles with snares on. You can have a few snares on one running pole.You will catch quite a few with this method plus the snares are working while you ain’t there,

I've never snared a squirrel and I've never snared a rat. Definitely something to do before I qualify as a fully fledged pest controller I reckon

It’s a effective method for both squirrel and rats. 
If you type in the search bar there will be a few posts about snaring both

Never tried to snare squirrel but i have snared rats. The snares worked better with a "bender" set up but to be honest were not in the same league as fenn's in tunnels. 

Don't think i would try snares around a barrel feeder though. Too much chance of a miss catch around it.

Snaring squirrels is supposed to be stupid simple according to some of my northern buddies. Just lean a log against a tree whee there at add some wire snares and
