tatsblisters 7,914
It's shocking that and it's something the unions and political parties should be addressing .

It's shit ,but don't worry about the lad too much ,if he has the gumption to strike out on his own ,get work ,and not settle for his mas back room and vid games like the other dead heads that seem to infect our estates ,,then the lad will go places .

Exactly mate! My fist job was at farmfoods and paid the grand sum of £2.22 an hour. My daughter started on less than a fiver, now she pays her own way to Italy etc. Only took her a year
tb25 4,626
Is there any particular reason there paid less though? Don't make no sense at all to me at all when we're both doing the same job.

Experience, keep them hungry etc. I was working with a lad and I was on 30k plus commission more than him, for the same job. The difference was experience and skill. That same lad is on more than 200k a year now, only 5-6 years later.
tb25 4,626
Thing is there's nothing different between me and this lad but age.. I just find it wrong..and hard to get my head round.. In my eyes we both started at the same time doing the same job and am on double the money. Doesn't sit right with me
mushroom 12,352
Like tat said, if it’s a warehouse job then it’s wrong but in a position where experience and ability are an absolute requirement then it’s not so bad. Remember, he’ll get where you are one day, if not exceed
tb25 4,626
It is warehouse work mate..no skills required at all . Fair play to the kid though.. Not sure how he can manage to pay his rent on that wage though..certainly be f**k all left after his bills are all paid.. Not much incentive to get the young in to work on that shite wage. If he was a lesser man and and the dole he would more than likely be paid more. Madness. Put a right bee in my bonnet this lol

I can recall when I was about 17 there was a gas fitter apprenticeship advertised in the job centre, when I tried to apply I was refused because only those on long term dole could apply.

Bit disheartening when you look at it that way.. At Least this youngster have a bit about him though to get out there working. Even though the poor sod works around all us others on double.
