I live in Cumbria..if you ain't prepared to travel 2-4 hours away you needn't keep a dog well not if you want to test it anyways,that's how it's been for 30 years now..barren of gear in the vast majority of places up here..200 mile plus nightly trips I done 4/5 nights weekly when I lived for the hours of darkness..I can never understand all this 'if only you were closer & it's too far away' sh##e,we live on a tiny island where you can go from north to south in less than a day in a car ?

I will literally just in the car and go anywhere tbh ? I use to go to Norfolk for a week a month digging when I had a mate up there , Iv done many 3/4 clock in the morning and got home at 10 in the night from a day trip , got to do what you’ve got to do , there’s jack shit local here probably one the worst places for game known to man ?

I hear you loud & clear matey ?..must be some buzz parking in the farmyard is it? ?..my youngest lad has just messaged saying he done 156 miles last night for ONE run, thankfully a successful one but that's the top & bottom of things around these parts these days D,he got in the house at 4.30am & now he's off to work,jeez I'm glad I'm done with that lamping game the memories of it all are flooding back..hope your keeping well fella ?

It's still a strange feeling every time lol. 

Keeping ok mate tbh, not too much to complain about but I still do. ?

Got a 14 MTH old pup on and he's still very puppyish, pretty much retired my other 2 lurchers and the terrier so it's a bit of a lottery when I go out now but still enjoying it, mostly ?
