I thought something may have been mentioned on here today as it’s armistice day …. anyway lest we forget ……

As much love, respect and appreciation as we all have for fallen soldiers its hard to stomach a society that demands that for 1 day of the year we act all patriotic and proud of the sacrifice men made

Mate, surely it’s about remembering, not posting on a forum/fb/insta etc.

Cheers.

Not having a dig at you here.. but this is what I meant about you working for Lockheed Martin... they are the military industrial complex.. ?

Think I've seen them before mate.

My Grandfather and Great Grandfather both commanded battalions of Sikhs in WW1 and 2 (and various side wars).

The indian army was a full time serving professional army of 200,000 men, which rose to 2.5 million.

You can't really celebrate or respect the contributions of folk like my grandfather who led them, without respecting the men they led I dont think.

Like i said its not the sentiment itself but the timing of it.....im almost positive ive never seen them before and would be surprised if you have either,i cant even find any on Google !.....my point being the timing of such virtue signalling in my opinion is pretty awful.

Clearly its all too white !.........nobody has ever said anything too Asian needs " diversity "........nobody has ever said anything too black needs " diversity ".....but anything too white.......and lets have it right " diversity " literally means chasing down whites !

Just to add.....i had a little float around Whtehall and Trafalgar Square this morning.....fantastic crowds paying their respects, and virtually black free !....surprise surprise eh :whistling:

Hang on a min. It’s Remembrance Day, celebrating those soldiers that died. That includes an awful lot of turban wearing Sikhs. Like it or lump it, it’s not virtue signalling .... it’s fair and right we remember them. It’s not about diversity it’s about fair representation.

And Sikhs ain’t black mate.

Is it possible to do absolutely anything these days without making sure we have bent over backwards to include and say thank you or beg forgiveness from 10,000 darkies !

We don’t go barging into the Notting hill carnival or the Haj and complain it’s too f***ing black !

Jesus Christ, what are we trying to prove with all this shit and who exactly are we trying to prove it too ?

Do we  insist the Indian army say thank you every five minutes for access to our military equipment or highly educated officers ?
It’s all just f***ing bizarre !

If anyone is so inclined (I don’t expect they will be) there is a book about the Ludhiana Sikhs and the diary of their war on the western front in the trenches in ww1. They received a lot of medals for bravery and if these things were given out evenly would have had a lot higher honours. They fought for Britain  from the mid to late 1800s all of the way through to 1947 when we gave India independence. They fought through the indo-China war, both world wars and many punitive missions in the Middle East etc. In World War Two they saw some particularly nasty fighting against the Japanese  while halting the invasion of  India and also in the Burma campaign. They fought in North Africa, in Italy at montecasino etc. They were even primed to be in the first wave of the invasion of Japan before we ended up dropping the A bombs. I have a bit of a personal interest in them as my family history is entwined with theirs for a long time. Them and the Gurkha were every bit a part of the British army as the Tommys and to think any different is a huge disrespect to them and their service. I doubt any British soldier would have been disappointed to have either the Sikhs or the Gurkha at their sides in battle.

Then let Sikhs celebrate them where they live, we’ll do ours, they can do theirs…..everyone’s a winner !
