Are the older pre 2000 landrovers a better buy than the post 2000 landrovers when considering cost of repairs? I'll looking to buy one for use in hunting. I will need it for on the road aswell as off road. I'm just thinking is say, a 1989 defender would be cheaper to repair than a newer discovery say 2005+.

Also, whats peoples opinions on a 4x4 subject or pick up for on road and off road, when considering cost of repair parts.

Theres nothing cheap when owning Land Rovers pre or post 2000 unless you can do all the work yourself, Ive got a 300tdi and a TD5 both Defenders, neither are cheap to maintain
