Hare meat is delicious,I've eaten lots, the wife cooks them and their done proper, slow cooker all the way ,red wine gravy and surrounded by veg,lordy...lordy ....lordy

I'd like to restock some land with hares, but I'd rather net them then relocate, but I reckon any opportunity to put something back would be a good thing, whether captive bred or otherwise

Hare is lovely to eat one of my favourites. Slow cooked and falling apart. Fresh it don't need no hanging

It seems to split opinions on here. People either love or hate it.

For me, hare, venison and other gamey meats are the best. Hare joints, coated in seasoned flour, fried light brown, then into a pot with either guinness, red wine, or if you're strapped water+vinegar will do. Fry some whole carrots and chopped onions then empty the fryer into the pot and add 2 or 3 bayleaves. At least 3 hours in the oven on very low temperature. mmmmm...... Food of the gods.

That sounds perfect.. I would eat more Venison if I could hang it in cold conditions. If its full of blood it tastes liverish.

You need to suck your lips through your teeth, then enjoy it with some fava beans, and a nice Chianti

I dont drink Chianti but I love Ox liver sliced thin and not over fried (pink) in rendered down beef fat that has hung for a few weeks with a few tomatoes and a fried egg or two.
