As abhorrent as the crime was five and a half years seems disproportionate when you compare it with other sentences  for different crimes. 

The guy was a cnut and I'm not complaining about him getting a five stretch but you could literally kill a person or be a paedo and end up with less , it just seems  F'd up to me ?

I agree with Kanny, it does seem a bit strong compared to other things.

However, let’s have it right, it’s one thing ironing out feral cats with a rifle or dog around livestock or game birds way out in the stick but it’s totally another killing some old ladies or little kids pet with a knife for kicks in the burbs.

Sicker than taking someones life or innocence? I'm all for capital and corporal punishment tbh. These pathetic sentencing/legislation laws need sorting out and so do the wrong 'uns.

It’s a known fact that nearly all serial killers and psychopaths start off by torturing and killing animals so maybe that was in the judges mind when it came to sentencing.

f**k him, he's a wrong 'un. Its good they threw the book at him, now they just need to be doing it on the same scale to the ones doing the same stuff to people. If cats gets you 5 years kids ought to get you hung.
