.17hmr Zero, advice please

Recommended Posts

I've got an hmr on the way to, hopefully, deal with some longer range corvids that are causing me problems. I've not had one before and am interested in recommended zero range please. I know they shoot flat and hate wind and have shot a few mates ones in the past but never set one up

They are flat and fast for the first 100, I will put the crosshairs smack on a rabbit between 60 and 120 yards ( I use them for pest control so perfect head shots are not what im going for  )  above 1

I zeroed at 42 yards and had to adjust slightly to get what I wanted. It shoots very nicely now, just need a bit of time to get out and use it now

Hateful little rifles! Any zeroing should involve a skip.?   Two of them? I hadn't realised you where so hard of thinking. As they say Daarn saarf "you facking mug". ?

I love these little rifles and own 2 of them, I zero mine at 50 yards to start with and then take it out to 100, they are not as affected by wind as some think, I had my cz with me a couple of days ago and the lad that was using it was hitting rabbits between 70 and 220 yards with a stiff breeze

Cheers lads. How flat is the trajectory? I'm more used to deer calibres and a .22 for anything else. The crows have got a bit wise to the .22 though hence wanting a bit more range.

Perfect mate, that's exactly what I was looking for. That's with a 50 yard zero or 100?

That’s with zero at 100 but to be honest it wouldn’t be far off zeroed at 50 because I found there’s very little adjustment taking it from 50 to 100

To be fair I had one and was offered the cz along with his cabinet, ammo, few hundred cartridges and some other bits and bobs for £200, so I thought sod it, 24 hour variation and bought it, but I see where you are coming from ?
