Comparison Galgo vs. Greyhound

Good evening,

I would like to hear some comparisons between galgos and greyhounds regarding their characters. 

Especially: grit, tractability, general demeanor. 

And BTW, did anyone of you hear of or had a galgo x collie or kelpie or even with a bit of greyhound or whippet in the mix?

Sandymere on here has worked with greyhounds, and currently has three galgos, I think.

Might be a good idea to get in touch with him?

How many types ? Coursing, cross ones. and show rough and smooth.

Galgos are the type of dog to walk around the estate in their mum's bright red high heels

All, and working, not so much show! They have a rough life over here imo. A lot of what goes on doesn't sit well with me.

Do you think they are to sensitive?

To be fair a lot what goes on in greyhound racing does not sit well with me either.

Sad to say but maybe if they was shown they wouldn't be so many getting thrown down wells etc etc but some of our track greyhounds do end up in China as human food .

They are sensitive but biddable and trainable, I find them easy to live with, I'd put them somewhere between a greyhound and a saluki temperament wise. They have high prey drive and will run themselves to a standstill and in the case of one of mine literally throw themselves off a cliff in pursuit.

Coursing bred from some very good lines, no show blood. No many rough coats about these days which is a shame, other than show stuff, but there are still a few broken coated about and they are stunners, i would love to import one but the lines i prefer seem to throw smooths.

Not over here. They use them in North Africa to cross with Saluki types and in South America crossed with greyhounds and collies/cur dogs.
