shovel leaner 7,648
My favourite beer is without doubt a pint of Joseph Holt . My dads side of the family live in Bolton or Westhaughton and If I get up there for a family event I always try to get in the White lion in Westhaughton for a Joey Holt . Met the Mrs in the wheatsheaf in Westhoughton, cow yed land. Story has it that a cow got its head stuck in a new gate. Deciding the gate was worth more than the cow the good people of howfen cut the cows head off. Hence the common refrain 'tha's not shagging a fckin cow yed are thee' often heard in these parts. Cow yeds or howfeners not being judged as classy birds by most of the surrounding towns. Joey Holts bitter is supable but there largers are pish 3
