If your going to campsites in a vehicle buy a caravan.😀😀

I've had tents, caravans and motorhomes and each has its benefits and drawbacks. We often camp off-piste in quiet areas for three or four days and the MH is the best for that. In France you cannot legally park a caravan anywhere but on a campsite and most of those are only open in July and August. You can park a MH  virtually anywhere, anytime.

The Swedish rules for tent wild camping are you can stay for one night in most areas there you dont interfere with the landownders use of their land,  in some natural parks its prohibited and you dont have the right to camp on some ones front lawn.

Big camping tents are best used on private camping sites as its to much trouble to set it up wild as you are only allowed to do it one night and less than 20sq meter big.

For caravans/RVs its a lot of campsites all over Sweden where you can get electrisity and toilet, kitchen facilitys. Some highways have free parking lots where you can stay one night along the road, often at beuthiful places. Semiwild caravan camping can be done if you use roads made for logging you may find a place to stay there you dont interfere with the road owners use of the road (you dont have the right but its ok if you are asked to move you just move).

Never mind all the complicated stuff, the rule of thumb when camping out is:

Stay dry

Stay warm

Have the ability to make hot drinks and food.

Thats literally all you need to enjoy camping.

Check the hydro static head on your shelter and buy the lightest and best you can afford.

A decent 4/5 season bag for European climate, don’t skimp on that bit.

A lightweight stove that burns multi fuels and a decent couple of aluminium fuel containers (obviously the ability to light the stove, load of spare lighters and even a spark stick as back up)

Water supply and powder drinks/soups of your choice.

For jewellery, a decent sleeping mat, a little wind up radio, a small stick torch if you ain’t the kind to pack your kit so you instantly know where everything is in the dark.

Slow and meticulous is the way when camping out imho, it really is a past time where being a bit OCD is a benefit ! Lol

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
