be a grand little lorry that with them kind of miles on it. the 330 engine in them tks were good engines. still sought after and make good money still.

look forwad to seeing your renovation.?

This one has a 220 turbo in it and the turbo makes a difference believe me as them old Bedfords weren't the fastest of lorries up hills no matter what engine they had,but those 330 were good old lumps but many a old Bedford was chopped up for them which is a shame but i'm as guilty as anyone else was for that...Have sorted some transport on getting it back home the start of next week so watch this space as they say ..:victory:

cheers chaps...I thought it was that...I was driving a skip lorry for a scrap yard back in 2006 ...

wasn't sure if the rules had changed or not

You can drive up to 7.5 and tow a trailer up to the train weight of the lorry, but there is no trailer laws any more and anyone can tow a trailer no matter when you took your test...As it goes  you can drive any bus on a car licence as long as it's still regd as a bus,if it's classed as a camper then a HGV is needed if it's over 7.5 ton.Double decker busses are over 7.5 ton and are wank to live it if your over 5 ft tall, been there, done it,take my fecking word for it...:nono:.Horse boxes are the way to go as they have been looked after, some have low miles, not many youngsters can drive them so limited to who to sell to and compared to camper vans cheap as chips, removal trucks have the space but have high miles and aren't as cheap..

Wasn’t the tks the ones with the easy to steal gearbox in ? Literally like 4 bolts ??

4 bolts holding it onto the bell housing,4 on the prop and one or two on the gear linage coming out the top of the gear box. They weren't really easy but a easy enough £100 as it were, but it does take less time to get a Bedford running than it does to take off a Bedford gear box and the money was in the engines really....

Bit big for me but I’ve been seriously thinking of van life , was looking to see how much a tidy old Toyota previa or lucida would be but they are rare or silly money Shame I liked one my ex wife had .

has the law changed now then with the motorhomes.....you say you need a hgv over 7.5 ton

it use to be that if you past your driving test before 96 that didn't apply you could drive over 7.5 ton on a motorhome...

Not sure nowadays to be honest but that's what i always thought, not that it made much difference what the driving laws were back then. Most of us bought motors from scrap yards etc and eeked a few more years out the old things but by feck we had some fun doing it and i have memories that are sometimes hard to believe even though i was doing it or i was there....

.Just found a pic of my 1952 Austin Loadstar,4 litre 6 pot petrol, full restore on that back to the primer and it was in show condition bar the wing mirrors as i towed a trailer with it and the originals were the size of a tea cup and shit to see out of...Crash gear box,no power streering and 10 mpg, wish i still had it

He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
