Rothbury's nice mate, I'm up there regularly, nice Riverside walk, and Simonside hills, and Cragside house with its gargantuan trees

I sound like a feckin travel agent here lol, hope you enjoy it anyway

Thanks for that mate we was right near to Simonside Hills, lovely walk that was all that mauve heather stuff was in full bloom some really nice views along there.....Rothbury seemed like a nice little market town...then had a row with the ol woman in that Labyrinth thing at Cragside thought we was gonna need a rescue helicopter at one point what a nightmare 😆.....apart from that had a nice pleasant peaceful time, nice area.....certainly beats York !....wouldnt go there again.

Anyway off to the Lake District end of the week Wilf reckons its good there 😆

York is too crowded and tacky. But, if you drive from there towards Malton and Pickering to Whitby, or take the lesser known roads via Castle Howard and Rosedale you'll some of the most beautiful moorland scenery in the UK. Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are worth visiting.

Go to Troutbeck and have a nice bite to eat in the Queens Head, sit outside if the weather permits…..it’s stunning mate ;)

Is that a Gressingham duck?, I'm waiting for a Dutch oven gonna make a behemoth of a dinner I'm fuckun starving

Its was a haunch of CWD venison, no idea what the make of Dutch oven is, I've had it years.I should've taken more pics really, did a full roast with the haunch, roast sweet potato, onions and courgettes. Only thing I bought were the sweet potatoes.

This week's adventure, the fishing was dire as was the weather but dinner round the fire and a catch up with old mates was worth the trip

That's the fuucking Hilton is that 😂

Tyla, that looks spot on mate. Would love to do something like that but a Dutch oven is way too bulky and heavy to cart up a mountain.

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
