Me and a mate went on a stay away ferreting trip years ago. I slept in the van in 2 sleeping bags with the 2 dogs in the outside one. He took a tent and some shit argos camping kit. In the night I could hear him shouting that he was freezing and wanted to drive home, I was toasty and warm and wanted to go ferreting so ignored him. Got up in the morning and everything was thick frost, he was in the tent nigh on hypothermic and blue in the face, could hardly move. It had been -6 all night which isn't that cold, compared to Alaska or somewhere, but nearly killed him. Just shows you need the right gear.

I felt a bit bad so loaded him in the van and took him to the cafe to defrost. He was a shit state to start with but was alright after a while and we had a good days ferreting so all well that ends well.

To be fair, all that stood between us and freezing to death in northern Spain in winter was 1" of closed cell foam insulation all round, thermal screens on the windows, a double quilt and a 6 kilowatt Truma gas heater. It was close.

March lol, lucky not to get frost bite and loose fingers and toes, must of been hell for you 😂😂😂

March is a winter month here great for ski hiking I use a pulk to carry some of my gear. This july week they had a warning of snow in the mountains (and a warning of high temperature in Southern Sweden).

Brilliant!  When was it built?

It was built in the 1990s but is a replica of an old working boat called a Leeds and Liverpool short boat like this, but I live in the bit the would have carried the cargo  👍👍

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
