I’m a hot sleeper and condensation is my biggest enemy …….

Happens all the time with the change in temps and moisture in the air… Can only try and vent the tent as much as possible but mainly unavoidable… It had iced up on the inside of the outer skin on mine this morning, the Soulo is an absolute condensation nightmare but it’s a bombproof tent…

Calling @zandy01.. i repeat.. calling @zandy01..?

Or anyone else for that matter!!

I'm slowly getting my wild camping kit together. Got a few bits you recommend including the trekology UL80 mat + pillow.. and the 1ltre water filter. I know what tent I'm getting.. not 100% sure about sleeping bag yet.

But.. I need a suitable rucksack.. and I'm struggling to find what I actually need. I'm guessing it's got to be 50/60 litres. I really don't want anything over engineered.. covered in straps and zips and things I'll never use! I've seen Beavers using the Atom packs.. they look the bizz.. but at around £250 I ain't feeling the love being a novice and that.

So if you've got any pointers to a well-made.. lightish  no frills rucksack and greatly appreciate it mate!!

The only thing it really must have is a pull out rain cover!!

Thanks in advance... obviously no pressure!!??

@Bush Rummager

Nice to know you’re starting to get all your kit together mate…

Starting out you need a pack of around 60/65l, Osprey and Lowe Alpine do some awesome packs but with come with a price tag - Osprey Atmos 65 or the Lowe alpine Manasalu 65/80 can both be picked up for £150 and £130 respectively - these packs have frames in so a bit heavier…

Osprey Exos 58 is a “frameless” pack and certainly no frills/straps/pockets all over (unsure of comes with rain cover), loads of people use an Exos 38 or 48 for lighter weight spring/summer camping…

Atom packs are meant to be excellent for people that favour that kinda lightweight pack - Andy had he’s made to measure with custom colours/touches and pretty sure it was around the £400 mark…

Ive known people to use Army bergens/packs which can be picked up really cheap or the other option is Facebook market place or there’s a good few outdoor/wild camping selling groups on there if you’re on ??? As there’s some mega bargains to be had…

Rain covers can be bought separate and although I have one which is included in my pack I organise all my gear into different dry bags which I find far easier to find or sort gear… The other option is to just use a rubble sack or two or even a bin liner and just line your backpack with it, twist the top and it’ll keep all your gear dry…

The most important thing i would say/recommend is to go into a shop (Cotswolds or good outdoor shop) and ask to be fitted properly for a backpack/torso size and try different packs/brands/sizes and fill them up with gear in shop so heavy when you’re trying them on. A pack that’s uncomfortable/Ill fitting will pi55 you off big time when walking the hills and mountains and spoil the whole experience…

This is a great pack for the money and no frills/zips/straps and could be had at go outdoors for £115 - show them this link and they’ll price match + 10% so may be a good option or something similar but I’d get fitted/sized somewhere first ?

Hi guys , bit of a long shot , but I’m due to imminently move to the plains of my people and have heard rumours of a firemonger of weapons ??
He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
