Bought a eurohike ribble 3 tent in the sale £60, off fb marketplace got one of those single burner cookers like Halfords have and a 25L water container with a tap for £20 , camping cupboard /kitchen for £15. Sisters giving me double air bed just need sleeping bags.

I’ve already got picnic stuff, kettle and utensils .

I spent a fortune on lightweight gear before I went to nz. I was bloody glad of it walking up those hills though! It lasts well to be fair and been using it ever since so can't complain

Can't beat ally pots and pans etc for hiking up a mountain. I used to take a heavier steel pan with me... fuuck that nowadays ?

A great tip I once got and used forever after was a small, non stick, high sided frying pan…..it’s literally all you need and it’s practically self cleaning.

Plastic utensils obviously which again are lighter.

PCB's mate... I don't use nothing non stick to cook with bud. Anything coated is gonna leave crap in your body that you will never get out, Google it ;)

For the amount of times it gets used, it genuinely wouldn’t worry me mate.

Edited to add:

I don’t  use any non stick products at home, it’s all plain iron or steel.

But the practical benefit of non stick in a non domestic environment is fantastic and the risk only pertinent to the amount of times it gets used whic let’s face it, is no more than twice a day for a couple of days here and there.

Go to Troutbeck and have a nice bite to eat in the Queens Head, sit outside if the weather permits…..it’s stunning mate ;)

Made a complete bollocks up of that Wilf ?....our site was at the very top of Windermere and after reading your post i had " The Queens Head " tucked away in the back of my mind so the day before we came back headed off to find it....." nice little village pub " i says....." not sure about the stunning views though ".......turns out we was in The Queens Head,Hawkshead....not The Queens Head,Troutbeck.....basically the opposite side of Lake Windermere !!.....anyway certainly a beautiful part of the country ive woken up in worse places than Coniston Water what a delightful setting at 7am.

Bit closer to home for this weeks mystery tour heading for the Norfolk Broads ?

Hi guys , bit of a long shot , but I’m due to imminently move to the plains of my people and have heard rumours of a firemonger of weapons ??
He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
