only trouble with noodles ...pasta ..rice etc ..is needing water to cook them with...which means if your hiking you got to carry it...or find it...

another good thing that keeps....is small light ..and full of energy is wraps....the flat bread things...theres like ten in a pack that take up no room...a handfull of raw vege ...(peppers onions cellery cherry toms ...or whatever you fancy) some chorizo chopped on it....bit of dressing if you facy...mayo or whatever....

very tasty quite healthy ...depending on your view of chorizo ..or salami....very easy to do and like socks said the raw vege will keep easy same as the flat bread on the chorizo

For something like that I'd take a tin of corned beef and some tomato puree and do a corned beef hash.

Dry cured ham lasts a long time and small tins of tuna are useful. Pasta needs a lot of water. If you haven't got much water then use cous-cous. It is available ready flavoured. Or take some large spuds. For bread; brioche lasts a lot longer than ordinary bread and if there is any apples and  / or soft fruit about you can make a summer pudding in a coffee mug. Chorizo, onions and garlic along with salt, pepper and tomato puree are a must for me. They add a lot of flavour to ordinary food. Small tins of chick peas and beans come in handy. Also, lots of nuts and raisens as energy food and to eat when you can't cook for any reason.

If I do two or three days away I'll just take a tarp, poncho, hammock, blanket and Kelly Kettle. No need for an axe or huge knife. A folding saw from Aldi and a pair of secateurs to cut firewood into small pieces are far more useful.

That's how I set up. If it is cold or threatens to rain hard I'll suspend the poncho just over the hammock diagonally and peg the corners so they keep some heat in and take any rain that gets through the tarp away.

Hi guys , bit of a long shot , but I’m due to imminently move to the plains of my people and have heard rumours of a firemonger of weapons ??
He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
