2 new feeders and hide went up yesterday pm

I put this hide up using two hurdles. Despite it needing a bit of background which I can add later nothing seemed to see me.

I haven’t seen that many about yet since winter. Not bothered with setting any feeders up yet. I usually start about October, November time. Got some squirrels in the garden but left them alone as they’re doing me a favour by eating all the conkers. Hardly any conkers left now though, they’re a right pain to clear up when they start dropping. The squirrels in the garden have also been raiding all the wood pigeon nests as well. I will repay them for all their hard work later in the year….

Same will not start feeding until mid October two weeks before start shooting them again

Not really, just a few youngsters. Last time I was out before this in August I shot 5 all adult males. The time before that I had I think 16, but Im no expert, I havnt been shooting Squirrels long.

Coming up to the best time imo mate .Late Autumn when most of the natural food is in short supply and they have to go looking for it .I’ll wait til then as my squig ground is a fair trek just to shoot a few .

My only problem with that is all the pheasant feeders are full in late autumn on this shoot and so I have to feed peanuts to bring them in, which started going up in price by silly amounts just lately. Ive made it now so only Squiz can get them with a door but they still go through a few, but I dont mind really.

New feeder up , after months  of inactivity had a few show lately one visitor didn’t leave though , hopefully now all natural food is down the feeders will kick in again

Still a lot of natural food around down our way , specially chestnuts
