High comb sXs

Recommended Posts

Evening gents,

Can anyone recommend a side by side with a high (monte carlo?) comb? What about an adjustable aftermarket stock fitted onto a sXs; would that ruin the whole appeal of the traditional gun?

I've a skinny face & find most off the rack too low in comb but really want a sXs for game.

I have never seen a monte carlo stock on a sxs.

Have you tried an AYA as these are certainly higher in the combe than English guns.

There are also people who will steam and bend a stock so that it fits you.

First pic is the original advert when I bought it about 3 plus years ago will give you an idea what they look like

I've never been measured/fit mate. But I've a 6mm gel pad on my o/u 686 and that's still too low for me.

Ok, if you measure the drop at comb and heel and including the gel pad I’ll see how it compares with my sbs’ ?
