Difficult.

I'd go for authors rather than books perhaps but in no particular order.

Spike Milligan, Milligans War, taught me to look behind the propaganda.

100% ?........the comic/tragic nature of his writing is something I loved.

I think you have to read those type of books purely for entertainment and with a huge pinch of salt mate.........otherwise you get absolute f***ing halfwits like Frank Fraser writing books and people thinking it’s totally on the money.

This stuff is interesting & titillating   but most of it is total bollocks if you get my drift

Read a lot of them,

Charlie Richardson, various Krays, pretty biy Shaw and Lenny McLean etc.

One I enjoyed was Cocky the Curtis Warren story, Liverpool drug lord running drugs from Holland, made obscene money..and ended up in nick...but its a good read

I agree mate and tbh even though I have read a few of them even those wrote by that Bernard M fella on the Essex rangerover murders I have no interest in reading anymore tbh though the book I mentioned in my post I was surprised when reading it to see two lads names who I know and another who I have met a couple times once being at the Waterloo cup as they say it's a small world.
