I never tire of putting this picture up; Cheers.

Seven weeks old, first cross Deerhound / Greyhound; Cheers.

The purebred deerhound and the many strains of crosses bred from such a lovely beautiful looking animal are to certain particular field sports enthusiastic seemingly for some reason very underestimated in the field I personally feel strongly towards the criticism that sorrounds the requirements for such unjustified comments and base my opinion on the management of this running dog of my own trials and tribulations!!Strains and crosses bred from the purebred deerhound are those that are usually top notch workers and are fully capable of providing fantastic sport in the hunting field. The deerhound alone has the ability and skills to work well in all the skills required for a good honest ? hunting field companion ?. Deerhound x greyhounds longdogs are very beautiful and very unique for field sports with its good quality weather proof coat inherited from its deerhound sire, and the requirements needed one expects in specific cases of speed and pace from its greyhound dam that subsequently produces fantastic results from its progeny!!!!!

I have a real good friend who lives smack bang in  the rhondda valleys a place named Maerdy a hunter namely Mr Carl Casey a fantastic friend who has achieved great success in the hunting field. Carl has educated himself in so far as using The constant type of running dogs for literally years and years and has educated himself to The pit bull x greyhound type. Their large domed heads and power to pull down a wild large boar is probably a very useful ? and unique way of providing fantastic sport in the hunting field especially when one hunts heavily built ground quarry such as wild boar and deer ? Carl Casey is a genuine trust worthy keen hunter and has achieved great success and fantastic sport for all that has hunted with a very modest professional experienced way to hunt and  claim his chosen ground quarry. He has been in the hunting field for some 40 odd years and today still continues to work ? his pit bull x greyhounds in the hunting field. He has a strong desire to breed the most appropriate type of running dog for very large heavily built ground quarry such as wild boar. His track record of being with all probability perhaps one of the best hunting field sport enthusiastic around today!!!he chooses to crack on and ignore anyone who lives in a crazy world!!!!

The sire works, the dam was brought over from Ireland. She's sired by Mafi Majik and has done a bit of coursing herself.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea

Just got this stunning little bitch, nearly 12 months old, Deerhound x Bedie grey.
I used to go out with my dad's Lurchers when I was a kid but I'm a female in my 30's now and struggling to get back into the swing of things.
I'd love to have this girl knocking down bunnies but I just don't know where to start, I've barely seen a rabbit or and other quarry since I moved here.
Any of you experts in my area fancy giving me some advice/practical experience (hunting related only)
