The deerhound x greyhound longdog/hybrid  providing its been genuinely bred true true to type is a fantastic longdog that is equipped with all the necessary ingredients for the country field. Tom  burns from Scotland wrote a comprehensive article on me in the 1990s we became good friends much  in common with each other.Tom  bred a true line of longdog/ hybrid from the deerhound x greyhound longdog they were absolutely fantastic longdogs that were undoubtedly the most beautiful looking creatures one could possibly imagine.fast, weather coated, very intelligent, keen good working merchants.Tom bred undoubtedly the quality of the deerhound  x greyhound  and seemingly still does I've recalled...I must give him a ring sooner than later in order to get the latest information from the man himself. The longdog in question is a good honest keen ? lamping longdog....its wise intelligent head allows such a good hybrid to better most longdogs in the coursing and lamping field. With the intelligence and height inherited from its deerhound sire and the length and various colours and beautiful stances from its greyhound dam providing the are genuinely bred from the appropriate ? breeding ingredients are undoubtedly at the top of the longdog league that I choose to satisfy my chosen ? comments on this hybrid. The ability to spin a hare on a wrench is relatively good for this giant of  running longdog hybrid. Its very deep chest allows a lot of heart room to pursue a hare in full flight fantastically to say the least... yours in sport carl Williams bowline whippet x greyhound longdog/ hybrids South Wales.

tom burns, now that is certainly a name from the past, must be a damn good age now, must be as old as hancock, used to breed  deerx greys under the name  of alba long dogs, if memory serves me right, surely he wont be still breeding these days, went of the scene like your self years ago, another lad that was breeding this cross afew years ago but  didnt reign too long, was andy barron from gisburn, some of his stock didnt make too bad a dogs.

It really is if you are only going to use the best dogs, test each gen properly and only breed worker to worker. Otherwise you are just breeding whippets to greyhounds, nothing anyone with some running dog experience couldn't do.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea

Just got this stunning little bitch, nearly 12 months old, Deerhound x Bedie grey.
I used to go out with my dad's Lurchers when I was a kid but I'm a female in my 30's now and struggling to get back into the swing of things.
I'd love to have this girl knocking down bunnies but I just don't know where to start, I've barely seen a rabbit or and other quarry since I moved here.
Any of you experts in my area fancy giving me some advice/practical experience (hunting related only)
