What’s your thoughts on deerhound crosses?...what crosses do you lot keep?...what game are they used for?...any specific lines and if you would like to share a pic of your weapon(weapons) feel free to do so...

Most of the pure deerhounds over here are too soft for the job. I've always wanted a pure working deerhound cross whippet, they were supposed to be better than whippet/stags  and were considered the ultimate rabbit dogs in steep hilly country. Rare as RHS now.

I’d love a large deerhound x if I could get a decent one but it’s be a waste of time when smaller type crosses are probably more handy to have in modern times but love the traditional stuff

This was my 3/4 deerhound 1/4 greyhound lost him at the weekend at 5 years old absolutely gutted.  Did everything I asked of him.

I’ve never really seen many of these types run, would be interested in seeing one so it’s thing on larger game if anyone has a good one they fancy taking for a spin ?

I think a beddy greyhound x deerhound greyhound would be a nice cross to try at some point something around 25tts would do me lovely ive only ever seen one beddy deerhound greyhound mix dog it was a foxer great dog wasn’t as large as you would expect from the cross but a handy dog with a good personality I’d like to breed my beddy collie x bitch in about 3yrs time by then she’ll be about 5 I’m thinking something on the lines of a straight greyhound or a deerhound greyhound as my bitch is a cobby thick set type
