Yeast build up

Sounds crazy but check the anal glands mate. I used to have a JRT that would drop fur and get sore and weepy at the sniff of a flea. Turned out it was something to do with the flea bites and an anal gland reaction. I had to empty them on a regular basis and she was right as rain ;)

Loss of fur is also a well known reaction to frontline. This is some serious stuff, potent insecticide, with loads of potential side effects.

It wasn't that mate (not disputing your point ;) ) We went through God knows how many tests at the time and she wasn't given any frontline/topical parasite treatment or wormers during that period.

As I said it turned out she had a massive flea allergy (previous owner neglected her hence why I took/kidnapped the dog) but the fur loss and weepy sores (back end) were down to her anal glands irritating the shit out of her and her scratting. Something about over active glands that weren't emptying normally and filling up abnormally, due to a reaction to flea bites. Poor sod she was. I broke up with the ex and let her mum have her as she'd just lost her mini English. Last I heard, they had the glands removed and she never suffered the problem after.
