Depends what you’re looking for ......

ferreting with a dog isn’t too bad....... but it’s mooch about with the dog ...... probably not so bad.

But it’s getting the way that if you go and ask for permission to lamp your running dog ........ you might as well have two heads.

Its very publicised now, that we are all no good scum bags...... and there’s no rabbits anywhere so it’s a tad difficult all round ......

20 years is going to see our sport massively changed.

These posters are being put up all over the place must have seen about 20 this week over quite a large area.

Ideal.

On of the big issues we have here is the association of lurchers with the pikies. People assume if you've got a lurcher, you're a traveller. And they naturally assume if you're a traveller, you're a scum bag thats up to no good. . . . .

Which to be fair given local events is fairly understandable!

Get yourself to the next livestock sale at Skipton,Otley is closer, hand out a few cards with your details and the fact you are willing to do some mole trapping, ill guarantee you will get a few jobs and the permission will follow, good luck.

Be careful because an awful lot of permission you will be offered, after trapping their moles, will not be worth having, feck all on the land to make it worth while.Getting your foot in the door in certain locations will give you a farmers name to bandy about on more productive hunting land.Farmers are suspicious and non trusting of hunters, especially in Yorkshire, when they know you have permission on a mates farm they are far more accomodating to a stranger,i had permission on some of the most worthless land, because of that I faired far better later on.
