Just wondering if anyone regularly ferrets just using ferrets and a dog and no nets I have seen a few videos of people doing it and it looks good fun as it really makes the dog work to catch every rabbit bolted.

just look at Trev70 videos on here mate he gets a few lucky catches?

yep....can't beat it...not only does it look fun it is fun....when you get a dog that is so switched on to it ..it can spoil you to not wanting to use a net ever again..

another thing that can happen...is it can be faster ...net laying can be time consuming...and very often you can drop a ferret in a small Warren ...bolt two or 3 in quick time ..the dog catch them and move on

I think the lie of the land would be a deciding factor.

Completely agree. Been out twice this weekend and didn’t use nets either day, Saturday was in fairly dense woodland lots of holes not loads of rabbits. Mistake tbh dog tried hard but was hard going and he missed most of them and was probably lucky not to hurt himself. This morning went out on recently chopped ditches and hedges and catch percentage went right up. Still missed a few but terrific fun and still got quite a few.
