9 hour round trip, collected my dog pup today. The fella is a gentleman, pot of tea and sandwiches waiting! Spent a good 2 hours talking! Cheers mate!

Dddc is right. A genuine man. Pups were finished well and well socialised. Offered us a pot of tea aswell. ? REBEL:

The wheaton cross isn't a new thing they've been about a long time.  Litter I had 25 years ago and they were about long before that.

What you gonna do when your pup takes a bad bite and don't wanna know anymore the only person to blame is your self and tbh if I was it's stick to running rabbit and hare cause your fox dogs only going to make average if they make anything at all

Wouldn't waste my time mate watching a dog that chooses it's hold, hares ain't my thing land in Ireland isn't big enough and too many bogs and gates and not enough hares either coursing clubs have them all netted, any dog with pitbull or Wheaton in the mix up ain't worth a wank if they choose there hold why keep a bullx or Wheaton x for foxes or other things that bite back if there picking holds is beyond me a decent collie hound will kill them by choosing hold, and you can still lamp everything else with it. 70lb dogs picking its hold against a 20+lb fox wouldn't be coming home pit it that way

I have to be honest but I've never waited till a sapling is over 20 months before giving in a fox, some I've waited a bit longer 16 17 month's but nearly all I'd of known what I was feeding by the time they're 14 15 months, that doesn't mean they were treated like a proven dog but I'd of had an idea what they were about.

One of the best fox dogs I ever see an worked along side was only 22tts no special breeding behind it just a local bred dog that had had Insight from a pup being bought up around dogs that were expected to kill fox so the young un had opportunity to see what was expected of it when older it was given opportunity for a rag after a kill from 6months old but never expected to run just for some involvement.from 12months it was expected for the odd run an catch but had to be single handed with no help the bitch was completely tapped in the head lived for killing.I think all the best dogs I’ve seen be it fox, deer, rabbit have all been conditioned for it from a early age I don’t mean running the shit out of them young I just mean they been shown insight for future reference tbh I don’t think I would want to not show a dog nothing for 20month an expect much from it I think positive mindset plays a part in dog all the decent dogs I’ve seen have all been dogs shown insight from a young age

I always told can’t teach old dog new tricks mate lol

how is a dog that has had 50 kills before 20 months not learning loads while the brain is learning at its fastest rate there taking everything on

Where not talking about whippet greyhounds or beddy xs where talking about Wheaton and Bullxs against things quarter there weight, anyways if your happy with your dog that's all you need, me personally wouldn't keep a game bred dog that chokes game out, I don't go and use champion pitbulls, 2x winners to look for a 20+lb foxs kneck to choke him out or big rough Wheatons that are pulling every weekend. There bred off game dogs to be game defeats the purpose of the breeding in my eyes, even in the pitbull world they don't match till over 2 years might give them a 5 - 10 minute roll at 18 months and not something that's gonna break there heart either, and the boys that are rolling 12 month old pups don't have a clue and new in the game
