Thanks  4 the info but they not common in our parts cant ever recall any wheaten in mixs in the old exchange n mart days and u wud see some sort of crosses in there ?

Jaysus your some man, you could run faster than a 1st x wheaten greyhound... Lol... These parents of the pups do very well for the owner, all rounder? Who mentioned their going to be all rounders? They have a few strings to their bows, and the only reason any dog won't run and catch game is because of its owners short-sightedness to try them on it....

A man asked about wheaten crosses I answered with what I’ve seen of them, which isn’t a lot but it’s just what I’ve seen with my own eyes, that’s how a forum works people discuss things. I wasn’t on about those ones in your post, and don’t worry I won’t give any more honest views when you’ve got a litter of pups to shift.

I got nothing to shift, it's my mates litter, bred to keep 2 back, what should he do drown them, pass em on to strangers for nought, he's had this family of dogs over 20 years, express you opinions freely, that's what the site is about, but get out and see more of the x wheatens at work, their a very handy type for many things not just one job

I’ve seen Wheaton crosses that were very good running dogs . I had a Wheaton cross before who had no problem catching and a litter brother wouldnt catch a fox in a phone box...no matter what the cross is you get good and shite in everything.... not everyone is looking for an ‘all rounder’ .whats even is an all rounder lurcher there’s no dog thats 100% on everything. Your not gonna bring an out and out fox dog out on big land running daytime stuff just like you wouldnt bring a saluki bred dog night after night for fox???personally I want a foxing lurcher any other game doesn’t bother me. But not all Wheaton crosses are bad. In fact there far from it.

They've been in the lurcher scene for years , probably before a lot of types , but before the days of the internet how were people going to hear about them ? 

Wheatens were used as a strong dog and they were even used as fighting dogs throughout Ireland .
