South hams hunter 8,996
If you have fb please comment with where you are based and help sea fishing or it will go the same way as hunting https://m.(!64.56:886/story.php?story_fbid=670858657097646&id=331674437682738 The Benyon Review - A THREAT TO SEA ANGLING! Read on to see how you can each protect our sport from this threat. The Benyon review proposes a series of highly protected marine areas, and at its most dynamic, will recommend that all current protected marine areas become HPMA's. The distinction between the two is a ban on recreational angling along with tighter restrictions against other activities. The committee who conducted this view had no representation for recreational anglers at the table. This is a disgrace as one of the largest stakeholders in the management of our waters. This is only a review, but it forms the basis of recommendations to parliament for policy. It will need to be voted on by MP's and thus the best way to stop a proposal like this dead in its tracks is to lobby and influence MP's directly, usually by burying the proposals in an endless cycle of requests for amendments, or having any proposed legislation filibustered out of the houses. We therefore need your help in reaching out to every single MP in the house. MP's only have to reply to their own constituents, and that's why we need a representative from each and every constituency in the UK. We will provide the letter to send, the variance will be to change the MP it is addressed to and who it is signed off from (we'll do that for you). Our letter will be conclusive. Aimed at casting doubt on the report, highlighting the many social, economic and health benefits of angling and reiterating the number of anglers, friends and families who will most definitely remember any erosion of our right to fish when it comes to elections. If you are happy to sign off a letter to the MP of your constituency, please send us a message or simply leave your constituency in the comments section. Lets work together to shut this proposal down before it has even got off the ground.
