Not read the full post. But a breed that have been used before in lurcher xs, is a Ridge back, I seen one few years ago, was whippet x Greyx ridge back x grey. Big strong dog  think 26 1/2in, good wind, not bad pace, good head, on it as well, they used alot on pigs in Oz from what I read, be good as fox dog as well.
