Well our first shoot of the year went well. It was cold but dry and a bit of sun appeared. Bag was 122 head comprising of 57 duck 56 pheasant 7 partridge and 2 pigeon. My own contribution wa

It’s been frosty the last couple of mornings, it’s very welcome , hopefully it will kill a few bugs . Unfortunately the Maize and cover crops don’t like it and they will soon be unviable as a drive .

Got a pair of sprayway, they got a few good reviews and at £45 ( instead of 100 ) I thought I’d give them a go, they fit spot on and are very comfy, only time will tell if they are built to last but I could have 5 pairs of these for what I paid for my meindl’s

Good result Ben. I’ve had the owl thing myself, tawny tried to land on my head coming in to squeaker, also got a face full of spar when I was in a high seat. Speaker again....had to literally fend it off with my forearm ?

Yep my Foxpro has called in countless owls , both tawny and Barn. Barn owls are magical as they glide in silently and nearly land on your head . One night had 3 hovering above my head at the same time. Also called in barn owls on an evening and had one land a few feet from me on the ground whilst I was laid out flat.

Back to the egg units for an hour tonight, definitely starting to put a dent in them now and the have certainly wised up, only 11 for 12 shots, the grass is coming down next week so I should get a good go at them once that’s down, I managed a couple of good 70+ yard head shots through fences that I was pleased with ?
