Well our first shoot of the year went well. It was cold but dry and a bit of sun appeared. Bag was 122 head comprising of 57 duck 56 pheasant 7 partridge and 2 pigeon. My own contribution wa

It’s been frosty the last couple of mornings, it’s very welcome , hopefully it will kill a few bugs . Unfortunately the Maize and cover crops don’t like it and they will soon be unviable as a drive .

Up at the shoot early yesterday morning for a quick feed around and to get a couple of birds for longshanx, although it was very cold and frosty when I set off we had no snow, by the time I got up the bank onto the top the snow was a couple of inches deep. At the farm this had increased to between 6” and 8”. So I got the bike out put a couple of bags of corn on the back and the .22 in the box on the front, I’m only feeding a couple of places now and the remaining birds have moved there so Gordon’s pen was the first stop where they were waiting under holly bushes on the clear ground that the snow had not covered, after feeding here I headed to the other feed area at the piggeries drive, I had to abandon the bike and walk to the feed area as in parts the snow was a foot deep, I didn’t see many birds over here but with the amount of snow on the ground they will of been deep cover, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen that amount of snow up there. After feeding I had a walk round for half an hour, shooting 3 squizzers and 2 cock birds

Good result mr sausage, I’m hoping to get to the sheep farm tomorrow, everything is in the sheds but they are starting to lamb in 4/5 weeks so I need to have a look out, I had a good walk round at the shoot as no one had been there I went looking for fox tracks, I only found one set heading into one of the timber blocks, so at least I know where to have a look once I get time

The weather is shocking, I’ve been rained off, stuck in the house with nothing to do so decided to clean a cupboard out, found an old photo album of the renovation of my first house and in the back of it was some pictures of my old rides. I never used to take pictures of my cars and bikes because it was before digital cameras,  so theses are all I’ve got ( I think )I know it’s nowt to do with this but it’s a bit of nostalgia for me on a wet miserable day

they will be from mid 90’s to early 2000’s

my Suzuki RMX 250, think it was a 94’

my Honda CR250, think it was a 96’

my stunning MK1 fiesta XR2, Y reg, completely standard, I sold it for £1000, to buy a sofa for mine and the missus first house, I dread to think what that car would be worth now in that condition ? my MK5 escort RS2000 is in the background ( a car from when Ford gave up making good cars ?)
