And theres your problem....if you would help anyone in business then dont expect to be in business for very long. If im letting someone into my life or my business i want to know i can trust them

I know the feeling mate... Very few lads ever work for you that give a f**k about you, they say the right things to your face cause you pay the wages...but 99% will go wherever the money is...or

Maybe I should of worked for you then? ? I’m not disputing any of that mate & I’m not saying any of what’s gone on for the op is acceptable, it’s just the loyalty thing has never been a big thing

It's commendable , I'll reread my post , obviously offensive my humour is not always well placed, I'll leave it there. May your bricks be well buttered....

? mate sorry but that made me laugh, I’ve always found that work the other way. Employers dangling the carrot expecting loyalty, but rarely returning it when times change.

Not saying you’re like that, but come on? I’ve learnt the hard way....sometimes you just have to jump & see what happens.

I'm a firm believer in lads going on and making it on their own, I've 4 subbie gangs that work for us all trained with us and learnt there trade, and I'm happy to give them work...you shouldn't ever stop people wanting to progress...

But the difference is when you do offer help, training, support etc and its thrown back in your face when they lie and set up.in their own with their first stop, your customer base...they know them as their on site working for you sowing the seeds, undercutting and generally showing they are snakes...

I directly employed 30 2 years ago, with around 50 sub contractors on at the same time... how many do you think were loyal to me, the company or anything else other than the wage?? I know...

I get it completely, I've not been employed since I was 18 so I'm used to working for myself and used to employing people.... a few on here could probably vouch for the way I treat people in work, I don't expect it back as you rarely get it..

It's extremely generous, it's not like providing a van or whatknot. I'm sure he's probably feeling regret or guilt but it's the way of the world I guess all fair in love, war and business....

You don't believe that mate.

And I know it...

I got burnt at a young age, hence I’ve jacked in every job I’ve had since & gone elsewhere when it suited me & my needs. Yes I have really pissed off some people along the way, but always gave 100% in the job & I’ve never regretted a move, it’s always been for the best....

I had to string along a firm before I left the U.K. They put a lot into me & was priming me for better things, even a trip to Canada was offered, but the truth is they were in trouble & weren't paying blokes on time & I knew if I come clean about leaving in the future I’d of been knocked. Well I got my money & let them know days before I left.....just have to look after yourself sometimes ?

The old saying come to mind.

What goes round comes around.

You will get you chance.

Cheers Arry

Sadly mate another old saying people should heed a bit more is,,,there are no friends in business, sad reading back over these pages makes me realise why I have become more of a loner as time goes on, each and every little dirty trick that hits you through life makes you pull further back, I,m at the stage now I spend around 90% of my time alone and am happier than ever ✌️
