Right, just watched a cracking little film... The King Of Staten Island,  just turned to it by chance on Sky Cinema Comedy and so glad i did...

So it's kind of a nothing film, about nobodies but just sometimes, you need a film with a down to earth storyline about everyday people...

Only watched this on your recommendation and didnt think it would be my thing but quite a funny and entertaining little film....weird but engaging sort of character the main actor i looked him up and the plot was based on his father apparently who died on 9/11.

Cheers for that anyway.

Bit of a Ray Winstone theme last couple of nights.

Ray Winstone?! :boogy: Walshie; Pul Eeease watch " The War Zone "!!!

I'm gagging to compare notes with someone else who's had their soul dragged out of them and been left with the thousand yard stare!

It starts off with bleak opening moments. Quickly descends into soul crushing bleakness. And then, finally ~once you Think it's broken all barriers of bleakness and the worst of taboo  ~ comes the hospital scene. That's when you get the mental scars! :icon_eek:

How could they even Make this fukking visual dirge?!?

One of the Best films I've ever seen though. And Ray and Lara Belmont are Fukking Superb! :notworthy:

Oh, and; Did I mention it's directed by Tim Roth!!!  :clapper:

I managed about 15 minuets of it …….

It starts grey and bleak. By fifteen minutes? Yeah; That could convince someone, " Fukk This! "

I'm a big Winstone fan though. I stuck it out. And paid the fukking price. It about aged me ten years!

The keeper , bbc 2 . Just finished .

the story of Bert trautman

I think every Football mad British schoolboy knows the story of the goalkeeping ex fallschrimjager pow who broke his neck in the cup final and played on unknowingly .

f***ing hell. Last scene, after the game , after burying his 5 year old son , coming out to a stadium and the closing credits set to “abide with me “

jesus

had to go in the Garden and pretend I’d left the garage door open

maybe a bit niche for some
