Only because i seen a topic abut these islands in the fishing section and remember that John Park sent over two youngsters to deal with a fox problem after the war (1980's!)

Not read the Park book by Frein as yet, so anyone know how they got on...?

How did foxes get there and wasn't there a huge rat problem after the war out there as well?.

Often thought about that since I was a teenager. I remember seeing a picture & maybe a few words on the subject, but no real details.

At least the breeding would have been kept tight, Noah’s ark tight

There are foxes out here, although rare. Rats are now off the island they had a problem with them from what i read on an infomation and history board. They were introduced to the island, but theres alot of ground nesting birds so my guess is thats why they made an effort to them gone. Uk is the place to hunt though believe me, none of it over here, and cant wait to get out with the dogs when i get home.

I don't think they go to ground like the Red Fox? Obviously terriers can still be used to bolt them wherever they hide out.
