A gundog scurry is a race with a little obedience added. It isn't what gundogs were bred for at all. A working type lurcher, properly trained to it should kick the ass of most gundogs in a scurry.

The lads a turnip pal this dog here of mine the Stafford can pick up tracks like you wouldn't believe in the best of cover. Rats just waste um shakes the bones out of um. Mushroom he  Even lifted up an a hare off its seat and honest to God am screaming come here ya c _ _ t loo ran for 3 miles up Howden east Yorkshire.  An for the saluki he can run  he's bred very well an does the job. He's like a sponge the lad who's post this is an can't read between the lines.

A staff doing a bit of fetch does not make it good and if the dog doesn’t even wanna chase it’s shit get rid get another my option most people are too soft and end up with a load of shitters Then they make excuses and lie for because they are attached to their pets.

Did you not get handed 'Released pending further in investigation' papers? That's the only grounds they have to keep your dog . Its black and white, the police do what they want if you let them. Law is law

Best thing that can happen now is to let people know where the poor dog has been left and maybe someone might be willing to go get it and give it a decent life.

Hopefully anyone on here will think twice before sending a pup his way.
