Maybe a load of capital to remove the pressure and allow time for myself to live there. Having a better understanding of the language would definitely have helped to integrate, in hindsight I'd have built a much smaller house and kept costs to bare minimum for a trial period, my view at the time was build something to last the family in one hit whilst I had a good income. But in truth it burnt me out if I wasn't working away i was flying to and fro for intensive weekend of wife kids dogs and house then fly back to it so I could find money for digs, apartment build , car abroad car UK ,loan, I'd have probably gone there and rented for 6 months in winter but there's no real way to do it other than to do it other than feet first. If I didn't have dependents obviously it allows for far more risk and gamble without fear of endangering/ jeapodising kids welfare. In truth I tried it and enjoyed lots of aspects but in the end couldn't sustain us, I'd initially imagined working away 3 months of the year , and living off the small holding style, but living costs aren't all cheap , food and fuel is similar to here cars more expensive or were, fire wood is quite expensive, labour is cheap building materials are expensive etc.

Yep, I think it was a very brave step going to a country that speaks a different language and must have a very, very different culture.

Its been much easier for me in that regard as my part of Ireland is basically rural England 60 years ago.

What a lot of English who have moved over and never made it struggled with was the lack of rules and regulations and laid back attitude believe it or not.....they just couldn’t function without someone breathing down their neck or being told what to do or someone telling someone else what to do.

Most of them are so uptight when they arrive it’s just not true, Some have only lasted 6 weeks !

Mental really when you think about it.

Of course im not happy....maybe i look at things too simplistically but to call anything " mismanagement " before its over to me is a little bit....well,if you,ll excuse my language.....cuntish really !......what sort of " manager " throws a hysterical tantrum when his team come in 2 nil down at half time.....to me a good manager sticks in and works out how to improve it......id judge how he did at the end of the game personally.

Spot on Gnasher

At the moment the BBC are ragging BoJo at every opportunity. Why? Because he's said that he'll break up their cosy arrangement with the public licence fees and force them to fend for themselves like other companies have to. If they are so clever then why don't they stand for Parliament?

Look boys, in case you have not been watching for the last couple of years then maybe you need to know whatever it is......

But frankly if you have not sussed out that something is amis by now and that someone has a horrible, bitter little character then you will never suss it out.

I don’t want or need to know any gossip about a certain person, I have seen all I need to see.

Better to have at least tried and failed mate than never tried at all. In years to come you won't see it as a failure more an experience and education. Better that than living and dying in the same house you were born in.

Normally 80% .. if your lucky your work might make it up to full pay , mine said they would for first 3 weeks and then review the situation. don't know if there putting us down to 80% this week or not , not heard anything off them about it yet
