At six months I wouldn't worry she should be a long way from seeing any fox. Just get her around as many dogs as possible and see how she gets on. I'm guessing your from outside the uk or be using your dog outside the uk ;)

Try to socialise her around other dogs. Every bull cross is nt guaranteed to be game . No matter how well it’s bred

Never a truer statment I've had dogs out of "top" lines that have jacked and dogs out of "nob hounds" that have been in the top 5% of dogs I've owned.

A mate had two English mastiff/dane crosses, huge dogs, they would actually crush pigs skulls when hunting,he ended up selling them as he liked to knife pigs so there was no sport in it for him. These two monsters were shit scared of other dogs, once he found them cringing in the yard when a mini fox terrier got in with them, lol.Just saying their dog fear had no effect on them hunting game which they would annihilate.

spot on mate, it means feck all, my big dog  Buck  , dont like fighting  other dogs, dogs try to kick off on him, but he moves away, he scared woody my 10 lb jack x chihuahua , he keeps well away when that little shit goes in the yard  lol.  Yet  Buck  Would  kill a fox, cat, lock on to a 10st deer solo  no prob ,  if he ever bumped in to any   pre ban. Dogs are funny animals, more so lurchers , as most lurchers in my mind are bit more sensitive  , than other types of dogs .

My dog is soft as sh.te and submissive to other dogs, and I wouldn't swap him, absolutely brilliant around my little one (absolute necessity) not a bad bone in his body, has his faults but great for edibles. Get him round some civilised dogs to build his confidence and avoid dickhead dogs and owners, ATB.

I have a well bread bull x bitch pup at 6mouths for lamping foxes but she is nervous and scared of other dogs how could I toughen her up I never had a dog that was scared of other dogs before I’m worried she won’t work

How much socializing has she had buddy because I have seen lads first get a bull x and are scared of letting them near a dog as a pup like they have a crocodile on the lead and if its in her you don't need to tough her up some of the most submissive dogs make the best workers maybe start her of by introducing her to a smaller dog maybe a playful pup as a bigger dog may scare her and you need to encourage her and not be nervous about it take her to say a place like a gun dog class were you know dogs are socialized and let her meet them in a controlled manner it might be your nervousness she's picking on

I think it's a good trait in a dog that is being used to hold or kill game.I'd much rather them avoid other dogs than see them as a prey animal.I had a pit/staff/English bull mix when I was young,it was petrified of other dogs of all sizes.I never used her for hunting. At about 18 months she started to "hunt" other dogs if she got out and got me into a lot of trouble. Her time ended when she killed my girlfriend's lab,who lived a couple of doors down. This was a dog I did everything to socialize. At the same time she was 100% with anything else living including cats, and even guarded baby chickens.

Anyone ever worked a deaf lurcher by any chance?..reason behind the question is I’ve bred a retired dog to a Merle bitch an I took my pup from it the biggest of the lot black and white with two ice blue eyes but I’ve noticed he can’t hear anything bangs or anything like that there’s only a odd reaction to some stuff but his eyesight is 100% very good eyes. I’m just curious because it’s all I have from this old dog and I was thinking could I use the pup lamping and out with terriers any info be [BANNED TEXT]. The father was not Merle only mother...

4 weeks ago I lost my lurcher who had just turned 10. Out for a walk and he just collapsed and couldn't stand up. Night in the vets and some treatment but there was no change after 24hrs so had to be PTS. Gutted. I'm now looking for another pup and just wandering how you boys  go about finding pups. I kind of keep myself to myself so don't really know of when pups come available. Probably look for something with some bull in it this time.  Thanks
