Million dollar question is why did you travel half way around the world to buy terriers that as a whole are known to be too big for the work over there

Here we can pic and choose set sizes to some degree. If I work near water Which is where i do most of my hunting you will find larger sets. However here in the states many if not most people work groundhogs. This is often done on farm areas their sets will be MUCH smaller. For this kind of work you will need a much smaller dog

I'd have thought nuttall lines would of been better type terriers for work you do over there or small russells types ? Why the black dogs ?  Is there no line of terrier American bred over there that do the terrier work you do

The other dogs never got my attention honestly. The ones I saw work were not gritty enough for my liken. I liked the way the Patterdales or fella worked more so Russell’s over here are a dime a dozen and most wouldn’t succeed where I hunt... would you not consider the nuttall dogs black ones? (I know there was Russell crossed into many of them)

Them dogs wouldn’t stick it here. But then they aren’t digging what we do, how we do. I’m not saying the guy is legit .......but I don’t know enough about what they do to call his dogs out.

Ive seen some very good looking, and very shit dogs over the years, and seen quite a few dogs that look like they couldNt achieve something they did. Mostly Lurchers like - but you’ll know what I mean.

Also he’s a yank, they are all f***ing odd.

How come there are so many experts on American terrier work..... that have never been.

Im genuinely curious.

Because I’d like to know more about it, what they require in a dog and why, how the quarry and places differ and stuff like that.

Shouting at people on the internet is boring and doesn’t achieve anything.

I've breed a line a dogs to suit me. I totally hunt different than most, but it's hard to send pictures or story's without people wanting to argue. I've always did things to suit me , and had fun enjoy these dogs a lot. I hope we can get back to hunting story's I like to read and see pictures very enjoyable

What these Americans don’t seem to understand is that there is more working terriers in one county in Ireland than there is in the whole of the states and there’s 32 county’s in Ireland then take in the UK but some fella is saying Americans will be the saviour of terrierwork. ?????

I've been to Kansas,  Wyoming,  Iowa, Illinois and maybe more that I forgot,  I hunted in creaks, hunted barns and stick piles, I had 90+ coons and a few possums none needed a tiny weak boned terrier to get the result.

The little bitch in the picture is smaller than anything I saw work out there.

Sorry buddy, but  even though your dogs work I wouldn't take one for free! In fact there is only a couple folks on here that I would take a dog from and you and the other 95% on this board  talking trash about how your dogs look better then the Americans dog's, yeah if your into staff looking patterdales with heads so big and muzzles so short they look like they not only can't breath but have very little to vote with? And most don't even look spannable let alone flexible. And I agree some bone is nice but when is it to much bone and thickness? Really when? Because all that hinders the flexibility of the dog's. And sorry but those staff heads on some of your dogs even though they look cool, there not functional nor do they have any mouth. Meaning all muzzles that can't hold a lot on there mouth when they do bite. And sorry but I raced dog's and known those big headed dog's not to breath as good as a dog with a shovel head. And HELLO MORONS THESE DOG'S CAME FROM YOUR SIDE OF THE POND?? so when you knock the dog's over here your knocking yourselves!!
