The coons were mostly taken with terriers in barns, some were taken in old log piles, I can't remember digging any from a natural earth but it wasn't from the lack of trying. 

The coyotes were all taken with lurchers 

 

Edited to say that the barn hunted coons were shot with a  .22 humanly as soon as possible once we got to the terrier and coon

Coons get anywhere they can, stick piles, barns, earth, pretty much anywhere a fox would get over here. 

I've seen a few decent digs lads have had over there but they're the exception not the rule.

There's nothing on the scale of the massive old badger setts over there, the North American badger is nomadic,  believe me I was looking.  I found plenty of active looking places, all no more than a scratched out rabbit warren.
