Rewilding farms

Recommended Posts

Hmmm.... do agree on the need for more sustainable and less oil dependent farming, especially to turn away from the drive to plough everything that has been underway for the past 10+ years. However, the rewilding concept has the stink of green eco / communist / new world order globalist crazies to it. https://www.rewildingbritain.org.uk/about/ the organisation mentioned in the video to have been advising government mention Chris Packham and George Monbiot as friends, the type of elitists that genuinely want authoritarian government to control the lives of the population and create their vision of what the world should be. I hadn't heard about this and will be paying close attention as an indication of the way things are headed.

If we want better sustainable and more traditional farming then we had also better be willing to pay more money for food

Let’s re-wild everything, turn vegan & import avo’s!

Oh & outlaw shooting corvids, give the same protection to foxes as that has been given to badgers plus throw in a few lynx & bears for good measure.

Highly likely the same knobs who thought recycling meant flogging off our unwanted plastic packaging to other countries to deal with!

F’ing cloud cuckoo land

Rant over

Some of the rewilding stuff isn’t without merit

we need to go back to small scale not industrial farming and be willing to pay for it

however there was a rewilding scheme done on the continent and Huge swathes of animals just starved to death

Another apples and oranges comment but after the settlers decimated the ecosystem in the Americas they've made superb comebacks with their game management strategies. National Parks and monuments in the US are like time capsules and the way a lot of hunting is managed with the lottery and tag systems is a true merit to what humans can do to fix what humans did. Fish and Game is one of the only branches of civil service that actually does a damn good job with the money it's allocated and it's one of the few taxes I actually volunteer to pay. It's a shame that the current administration is hell bent on trying to undo that good.

I live in the middle of a big rewilding project. It has its pros and cons but there's no doubt there's a lot more wildlife here than on any farmed land. Whether it's the big solution everyone is talking about is another matter

the yanks can do this sort of stuff with absolutely no ill effects to their food production capability,. they have plenty of land to produce so much they export loads, here in the UK it`s not so simple. Plenty of so called "experts" crying out that it is the only way to reduce our carbon footprint, really, more likely to double it when we end up importing even more food from the other side of the world. All these green idiots need to realise that the main problem the planet has is overpopulation and they need to do their bit by taking a holiday in china.
